Remember the images, mostly pictures from Pattaya & the beautiful country Thailand.
Great remember images that I came across in my archive and would like to share with you. They are mostly pictures from Pattaya but also from other parts of the beautiful country called Thailand. They are several different pictures that are just fun to recognize, see and of course to look at, sure to bring back some memories. From cultural to the delicious food, from funny to beautiful views and much more enjoy and let the thought flow.
Pattaya Buddha tree in the Walking Street.
Anyone who has been to Pattaya and visited the famous Walking Street entertainment district knows the famous Buddha tree. A Buddhist "Sacred tree" along Walking Street. This special tree you must have seen if you have walked through this street, "A must to see".
'Pattaya Walking Street' sign.
This was in 2010 and again some changes were made to the entrance of the well known 'Walking Street' in Pattaya. I came across this design among all my photos. I must say that they are trying to keep up with the times but I find the old confidential entrance with the round arch and the letters underneath with 'International Meeting Street' and the beautiful picture of the King above it much more attractive than what is was at that time.
From Thai boy to Thai lady (boy).
You go to school in Thailand as a boy, and like so many others you go along to change into a lady (boy), look at this example and there is really little time in between. The transformation from boy to lady (boy) like so many in Thailand and which is fully accepted in the culture of this beautiful country.
Entrance to Soi LK Metro from Soi Bua Khao in central Pattaya.
These were very fun times for me at least, to see a street that was built up and very slowly becoming what it is today, this has been about thirteen, fourteen years ago. and it was I think the first businesses to appear on the corners. 'Sugar Sugar' on one corner and 'Club Blu' on the other corner. They were nice dancings clubs where I spent many hours, where have the times gone, time flies by.
Nostalgic street food stalls along Soi Bua Khao.
These are two street food stalls where I regularly bought food, it must have been around 2006/2007. One 'Thailand Fried Chicken' had very tasty fried chicken, I bought it and ate it at home with some sticky rice and sauce. The seller had to leave every day and the next day she drove back to sell her merchandise, it was delicious. She used to stand in the market along the street side just before the turn of 'R-Con Residence' in 'Soi Bua Khao', where the 'Cafe Amazon' now has its branch.
The other was in 'Soi Leng Kee' just before 'Soi Bua Khao', it was the 'Snack Express' a kind of 'Denmark Hotdog' joint but still different, 'Same same but different'. This is where I would often come when I had had a big drink, was a little drunk, hungry and wanted to bring in a greasy hamburger with thin French fries. Sitting on the stool without a care in the world and eating everything with your hands, that was great in the middle of the night.
Fully loaded blue cab Baht bus.
A familiar sight for many years, from the first time I came here in the 80s these blue cabs in Pattaya stood out. And in busy period with many tourists, they were all completely packed that you just have to stand on the back almost ripped through stall. I'm surprised that I've seen very few accidents with cabs speeding through Pattaya. You must have experienced this once, go and stand in the back without fear.
Original well known Thai toilet.
I think we've all experienced it, you open a door somewhere and you see this to do your need. I often enough, especially in the early nineties and the number of times I was in the Isaan, the biggest campsite there is. There they don't know any better than this. I have been told that doing your business in a squat is very good for the bowels and the stool but that's beside the point. I was always preoccupied with those fucking mosquitoes when I was struggling there with a turd that had to fall in haha.
Special 'Banok' birthday cake in the Isaan.
I'm not kidding but if I was in Isaan around my birthday, this was my favorite birthday cake haha, delicious.
Do you also have occasional internet problems in Thailand.
Sometimes I have no internet, there is no connection. Then I have to start calling people again to fix it. Still don't understand how they can find the problem fairly quickly anyway in this mess of cables.
Jet Skis on the beach of Jomtien, Pattaya.
I am sure most of us have rented a jet ski at one time or another, some with very good memories and some with very bad experiences and that is mostly from the last decade or so. My first jet ski I rented was in the late 1980s and by all accounts the Thai landlords had never heard of the Jet Ski scam and neither had I or my friends. Am glad when I hear or read some of the horror stories of the last few years, what a misery.
Thai fruit and vegetable market.
I like to buy my fruits and vegetables at the local markets in Thailand. I have a great time there among the locals and it is quite different from the supermarkets. Only when it's bloody hot I like to skip it sometimes, just too hot to walk in the crowds at a market. For the rest I say: just do it and buy your food.
Two nostalgic pictures from a nice place in Pattaya.
A nice and beautiful place for a cocktail car or should I say cocktail bar. This was on the second road around 2007 and it was a nice place to just sit and enjoy. The other is a Thai saleswoman who just started selling her Thai bbq sticks, delicious they were and in the background you can also see the cocktail sales place again.
